take my money, damn it! (Amazon giveaway)

Why does it seem like the majority of bloggers are much cooler than the people I meet in person? I’ve said this a few times here, but I’m reiterating because it seems strangely true. I’d rather fall ass-first into a dildo factory or have someone crap in my hand at a Broadway show and be forced to give a standing ovation than meet random schmucks in person. So, because I love you guys, and because the weather has been hot and sunny and puttingΒ this negative Nancy in a good mood, I wanted to do a small Amazon gift card giveaway this week. Β I mean, who doesn’t want a free $20 to Amazon? They have just about everything. (And I can just email it out, so you don’t have to worry about me showing up at your doorstep with a meat pie made of roadkill I scraped off my driveway.)

I’m just doing this for fun, so the only thing you need to do in order for a chance to win is answer the question below in the comment section. You can enter up until Tuesday night 04/18 at 11:59pm EST. I’ll post the winner on Wednesday morning. If you have Amazon in whatever country you live in – you are eligible to win.

(Benny D. Sheep and the cat’s butt are not included in the giveaway. If you follow me on Twitter, Benny is the smaller version of the huge sheep I found in Kroger the other day. Isn’t he cute?)

Maybe one day I’ll actually make some sort of money of this blog, and I can start doing big giveaways. That would be fun.

Here’s the random question you need to answer in order to enter: If you could eat anything you wanted right now, what would it be?

  1. I’ve been craving something that I grew up eating and haven’t had since I was in my 20s and that’s an oyster pie. Basically, it’s a pot pie style dish, made with a cream sauce and potatoes and onions and oysters (of course) and I’m not sure what else my mom put in it.

Growing up, it was my father’s favourite dish, and when he married my mom, she had to try to figure it out on her own. (I’m not sure why, but I don’t think my Grandmother approved of my mother initially, so asking her wasn’t an option.) So, she kinda looked at other recipes, talked to my father, to get him to try to remember what was in it, and went from there. (From what I gather, there was a process of trial-and-error, with lots of error involved, before she perfected it.)

She’s passed away now, and the recipe hasn’t been found. I’ve gone online and found a couple recipes, but I haven’t been brave enough to try it yet.

That’s a sweet memory! I hope you can someday find the recipe your mom left behind, or maybe even your grandmother had hers written down somewhere?

Thank you πŸ˜€ I feel like I’m slowing getting out of my groove, as well. Hopefully I can bounce back. I started blogging in Oct 2015 – so quite awhile πŸ™‚

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my post on how beneficial walking up stairs can be. I am enjoying my visit to yours. The Amazon giveaway is very clever. Original? My favorite snack is salted pumpkin seeds in the shell and hot coffee. Yes, that’s what I would like to be eating right now. Go figure.

  3. I would eat a hot old-fashioned American breakfast: biscuits and gravy, pancakes, scrambled eggs, spiced apples, orange juice, and a pot of coffee—all to myself of course. Or just about twelve cinnamon rolls. (I should be full by then πŸ˜‰ )

Mmm all of that sounds good. Spiced apples! I’ve never heard of that, but I want it haha. And I’ll take twelve cinnamon rolls, too. Salivating over here!
