bitch-slapped by the devil (Amazon winner revealed!)

I’m not sure if it’s allergies. the weather changing, or something a bit more sinister, but lately I’ve had such a bad migraine I wonder if I’m moments away from my brain exploding and decorating the walls of my home. Which I imagine would be quite painful and life-ending, but who knows, I could be the originator of the next great home design trend. Not that I want other people’s brains to end up on their walls – but maybe red paint thrown against the wall like blood spatter will be the next big thing. That’s something to look forward to, right? Being a trendsetter? There’s always a silver lining if you search hard enough.

I’ve been meaning to pick up the frequency of my posts again this past week, but with family over for Easter and Satan plaguing me with the migraine from hell, I’ve been a bit distracted. I actually didn’t put it together until right now, but maybe there’s a connection. I think I’m being bitch-slapped by the devil on the holiest of holidays. I’m convinced.

Anyways… thanks to everyone for entering the giveaway to win a $20 Amazon gift card. It was fun to see all the yummy food everyone was craving, and exceedingly torturous at the same time for someone who eats a very strict diet. I asked for it, though!

The winner, who was drawn at random is…. zongrik ! The food she was craving at the time she commented was mango slices. Mmmm. Very summery and refreshing. I’d definitely go for that.

(zongrik – email me within a week at theshamefulsheep@yahoo.com, and I’ll send the gift card your way!)

Do any of you ever read funny Amazon reviews? They seriously kill me.

Thanks! It was better for the most part yesterday, but came back in full force towards the afternoon. What the hell? Sucks! That review kills me! So funny.

  1. Ah…the creativity that goes in to some of Amazon’s best reviews. Seriously, someone ‘aught to write a book compiling the best of ’em.

Although I’m sure if that happened, the author would be sued into oblivion for a stupid reason..

    Feel better, Sheepy!!!

    1. I don’t know in detail as I’m ‘submitted’ to Ama France and Ama UK, but I have received loads and loads of the ‘best WORST comments compilations done by Ama haters’…. Maybe it does exist? I nearly always read a great great number of reviews before buying on their site and often I chuckle and even indulge myself in an ‘exchange’ with other commentators! 🙂

Oh, they’d get sued to death, for sure! There would be no getting away from that one haha. Although, that would HAVE to be one of Amazon’s best sellers 😀

I knew migraine for years and years. Amongst other, divorce helped (NOT that I wd recommend that to you …. and you know that – just saying). I also discovered that they were worse in spring time with all the pollen and nature-goodies flying about and the WIND carrying them just about everywhere. I’m inside right now because we have bright sunshine but COLD winds, strong ones – and they don’t help my headache (not migraine!!). And maybe give up your 1* rated sugary junk food and nuts…. but Blair, you know that too, don’t you!!!?

These headaches are terrible! The pollen is STRONG right now, so I have a feeling it’s really doing a number on me this year. Which is strange, because this is the first year my allergies have been bothering me my entire life. Usually nothing affects me. I’m getting screwed as I age lol

      1. Sweetie, it’s the CULMINATION (if that’s a word, lol….) of everything: stress, health, diet, weather, lack of sleep due to headaches, worries (!!!!), talk lovingly to yourself, please!
It took me (far!) too long to realise you can only BE good for others when you’re being good to YOURSELF first…. Doesn’t mean egoisme, doesn’t mean self-love in an exaggerated way, just be kind to yourself…
Chin up, even if the throat is dirty (my dad’s words – in German…. when we were dismayed as children!) 🙂 🙂 🙂

Haha, I think life DOES get better with age! But this is the first year I’ve consistently had migraines, so I’m going the opposite! The older I get, the worse it gets.

      1. Oooh I’m so sorry to hear that. I take Imetrix when they are bad – god send for me. Otherwise Walmart “fake” Excedrin works or Execdrin. I’m sure you have your magic solution too.
I know it doesn’t help, but feel better!!

Oh man, a taser! That would scare the crap out of me to even attempt to try haha. My head is feeling a little better! Hopefully it doesn’t creep back up later. Ick.

  4. Migraines are the devil’s way of reminding us he invented axe murderers and other fun stuff, too. But his favorite is the migraine.
Now I’ve got to go search for Amazon reviews that are as helpful as the one you posted!
    Feel better, Kiddo!

Man, they really are the devil’s work. Migraines suck. There are some amazing reviews out there! I was cracking up reading them yesterday 🙂

  5. Sorry you don’t feel good. I suggest getting massage. I know you’re an introvert and may not want people touching you but they can clear your sinus if they are trained correctly…come to MN and I’ll do it for you 🙂
    Also, that review was ah-mazing.

Actually a massage sounds nice. I love being strong armed by a greased up stranger! Really, though… I do enjoy them. I haven’t had one in years! I’ll have to look into it 🙂

  6. I didn’t read through the comments (I’m really bad) so maybe you have already gotten this suggestion: botox. A friend of mine gets regular botox shots to prevent her migraines. She still gets a visual aura and a slight feeling of pressure in her forehead that lasts about half an hour, but nothing else. She claims that it’s been fantastic (she’s been getting botox for about five years now). She developed a tolerance to the pills she was taking and was back to getting about two a month. They were completely debilitating. It’s at least something you could look into or think about. 🙂

    Anyway, feel better soon. 🙂

Botox… like the poison to get out wrinkles? I’ve never heard of that one for a migraine! Seems like it’s worth trying. I just recently started getting migraines like the past year, but man… it’s a bitch.

  7. You’re feeling lousy and still managed to crack me up with this post. I’ll confess to something. I’ve been away on vaca and I’m trying to catch up with my blogger pals. So class was almost over and my students were reading dead quietly and I went to read this damn post and had to hide my face and almost bust my brains out trying to hold in laughter. Tears were coming from my eyes and I’m trying to look like a focused and responsible adult. The day was looong and I needed a good laugh. Thought you’d like to know. Thanks for adding lightness to the world. Feel better darling. Lynette d’Arty-Cross recommended Botox and I’ve also heard really good things about it as treatment.

Haha, that’s hilarious! Glad it made you laugh at the end of the day 😀 That makes me happy. I’ll definitely have to check into the Botox thing. I’ve never heard of that. I don’t have any wrinkles yet, but maybe I could start tacking them preemptively.
